Who, Me? Couldn’t Be! Fleet Tracking Reports Help Prove Your Innocence
Written by Alison Thomas
Fleet tracking can be your company’s best detective. Here’s how:
A woman calls in claiming that she has just been involved in an accident and that your company vehicle is at fault due to speeding. Sound familiar? Or how about a call from one of your customers claiming that something had been stolen off their property and a neighbor saw your company vehicle there before the theft was discovered?
Unfortunately, companies are faced with these accusations on a daily basis, and because there is often no proof that the company wasn’t involved, they end up paying a hefty settlement or losing a valued customer. The good news is that proof of innocence is available with a vehicle tracking system.
That accident claim? Bogus! After checking the Route Replay feature in your fleet tracking system (which replays the route the driver took at any given time as well as the vehicle’s speed), it is clear that the driver’s speed was within the posted speed limit prior to the accident.
What about the trusty neighbor that saw your vehicle at the scene of the theft? Easy solution. Provide the customer with a fleet report from your vehicle tracking system showing the locations of all your vehicles during the time the neighbor claimed to have seen your vehicle up to no good. And lo and behold, your vehicles were nowhere near the scene! You retain your customer and the neighbor probably gets the stink eye every time he comes out for the morning paper.
With fleet tracking, you have a record of every move your vehicles make, and your days of being falsely accused are over.
